Theres a chance that the user may get injured in such a way so they are given caution to ensure that they put their thumbs on top instead of on the slide.

As a matter of fact, one of the frequently overlooked aspects in a gun range etiquette is attire. There are fashion choices that are pretty obvious like not wearing shoes with open toes. Nothing is wrong in wearing t-shirt but you might want to be extra cautious when wearing one with a v-neck style. It is due to the reason that its creating a funnel effect and if they loosely hold their gun, the round might go backwards and fall down to their shirt, which is somewhat embarrassing for the person.
